Paint Children'S Murals

Fun outdoor wall mural

Children's wall murals have come a long way. It is no longer necessary to draw a mural design freehand across a large wall surface. Almost any image can be converted into an outline drawing that can be transferred and painted. This means that you can choose from photographs of places like the countryside near where you live to your child's favorite cartoon characters. Or you can pick from scenes in children's books, comic books and coloring books. This allows you to match the mural to exactly how you want the room to look.

Instructions

1. Choose an image you would like to paint on your child's wall. Upload that image to a paint-by-number software company. Usually, you will select a color palette and the program will convert your picture to a paint-by-number outline optimized for painting. You then print out your pattern and a color key.

2. Copy your outline to a storage type that works with a simple projector. These projectors are sold in the toy department and designed to project cartoons onto the ceiling.

3. Project your outline onto the wall and trace the lines. Number each space as you go.

4. Collect all the paints you need in your color key. Number each paint with a bit of tape and a marker. Paint your mural with large-size artist brushes.
