Make A Large Room Divider

Break up a large room with a curtain room divider.

A large room is usually desirable in a home, but if the room is too large, it can pose decorating and usage problems. If you have a large room you want to use as two more-intimate settings with separate functions, divide it to delineate the spaces. With some basic supplies you can purchase from a home supply store, you can make a divider for your large room.

Instructions

1. Measure the length or width, depending on how you are dividing the room, of the ceiling where you want to hang the room divider. This measurement will determine what size ceiling-mounted, rolling-curtain track you need to purchase.

2. Measure from the ceiling to the floor. This measurement will determine the length of the curtains you will need to purchase. Use the measurement taken in Step 1 for the width of the curtains.

3. Purchase a ceiling-mounted, rolling-curtain track from a home supply store. Purchase a track that equals the measurements taken in Step 1. You may need to purchase multiple tracks.

4. Purchase a curtain equal to the dimensions taken in Steps 1 and 2. You may need to purchase multiple sets of panels to provide full coverage.

5. Use a ladder to position the track on the ceiling where you want the divider to hang.

6. Drill the included screws into the ceiling through the pre-drilled holes in the track.

7. Snap the included clips into the opening on the bottom of the track.

8. Attach the curtain to the clips along the track.

9. Pull the curtain along the track to open and close the divider as needed.
