Wild birds should be outside, not trapped in your house!
A wild bird has flown into your house, and is in a panic trying to get out. Come to mention it, you're in a bit of a panic, too. Don't worry...here's what to do
Instructions
1. Keep the bird in a single area of the house, if possible, by closing doors to prevent the bird from flying to other rooms.
2. Cover windows and any other source of outside light with drapes, curtains, towels or blankets to block off the light.
3. Leave one window or door open and uncovered as an exit for the bird.
4. Turn off room lights and take a few minutes to just stand or sit quietly and calmly.
The bird should fly out on its own through the only lit opening available.
5. If that doesn't work, use a large towel or sheet to try and trap the bird, handling it as gently as possible, and keeping clear of beak and claws.
6. Bring the wrapped bird outdoors, and gently unwrap the towel and blanket, so the wild bird can fly off.
