Install A Ceiling Mount For A Projector

Most universal projector mounting kits will come with all the tools needed except for the drill. The ceiling is a great place to put your projector; purchase a kit that works for the type of ceiling you have. There are special kits for drop ceilings, brick, and metal, but the standard is drywall. The MonoPrice projector support is a ceiling mount that allows for a practical and almost risk-free place to keep your projector safe.

Instructions

1. Locate the best distance, from your screen, to place the ceiling mount. This is easily done by holding the projector, and placing it on medium zoom, then walking backward until you have a clear picture.

2. Use a stud finder to find at least two anchor points, and mark where you're going to drill the holes for the ceiling mount.

3. Drill the ceiling mount into the ceiling studs, where you marked with a pencil.

4. Hide ceiling mount with snap-on cover.

5. Slide cables through neck piece.

6. Clamp on neck piece by pushing down the two pop-out bolts on the ceiling mount.

7. Fasten down the three arms with the fitted screws. Do not tighten the screws; they need to move in order to find the balance point.

8. Align the slots in the sliding plate with the holes in the arms, and fasten them down with three screws from your kit.

9. Find the center of gravity by lifting the projector by the sliding plate. You will be able to feel when it's centered; all sides will have equal weight distributed.

10. Tighten down the screws in the three arms.

11. Have a friend hold the cables to the side, while you slide the plate into the tube. Press down the two bolts on the top of the plate and move it around until the bolts come out of the two holes in the tube.

12. Have your assistant hold the projector while you tighten the bolts by turning them counter-clockwise.
