A pendant lamp is a single light fixture that hangs from the ceiling via a cord or chain. IKEA is a Swedish retailer, providing affordable furniture and other home goods. One reason IKEA can offer affordable items is that nothing comes assembled or installed. Luckily, installing the IKEA pendant lamp is quite simple, regardless of the model. All you'll need is a screwdriver.
Instructions
1. Cut the power to the light circuit.
2. Assemble the IKEA pendant lamp according to the included instructions. Adjust the length of the lamp as desired. Unscrew the base of the pendant lamp.
3. Screw the fixture crossbar to the light box in your ceiling using two screws.
4. Hang the base of pendant lamp on the fixture crossbar via the metal hook within the base.
5. Connect the electrical wires in the lamp's base to those in the light box. Match the wire colors, wrap them together and replace the wire caps.
6. Screw the base of the pendant lamp so it's flush against the ceiling.
7. Attach the lamp shade to the free end of the pendant lamp.
