Install Ikea Art Lighting

Install Ikea Art Lighting

Highlight your pieces of art with Ikea lighting. Ikea is a Scandinavian company that sells a variety of home furnishing products in many different countries. Art lighting attaches to the wall and can be adjusted as needed. Art lighting is useful when you want to show off your collection without allowing sunlight to damage the work. Oils, pastels, prints, photographs and watercolors tend to fade when placed in direct sunlight. Ikea art lighting uses halogen bulbs. These produce a strong white light, which brings out the color spectrum and is recommended for art displays.

Instructions

1. Center the fixture directly above your artwork. Use a measuring tape to find the direct center. Place a level on the base of the fixture to ensure a straight line. Once the bubble is between the lines on the center of the level, lightly mark this spot on your wall with a pencil.

2. Place your pencil through the mounting holes to make two light marks on the wall. Set the light fixture aside in a safe place.

3. Push an awl into the two pencil marks on the wall to create starter holes. Press the plastic portion of the dry wall anchors into the wall by hand. Continue pushing in until the flange of the anchor meets the wall.

4. Put the Ikea light fixture back up against the wall. Line up the mounting holes with the two installed anchors.

5. Place the metal screws through the mounting holes into the plastic drywall anchors. Tighten with a screwdriver.
