Disassemble A Fan From The Blade

You can remove ceiling fan blades with a screwdriver.

Ceiling fan blades may get damaged and need replacing, or you may need to remove them in order to clean them thoroughly. Disassembling a ceiling fan from the blades is a job that you can complete in about an hour. Each of the fan blades is attached to the motor housing with a metal fan blade arm that is secured with screws to the housing and the blade itself. With the right tools, removing the fan blades is a straightforward process..

Instructions

1. Turn off the ceiling fan and let the blades stop completely. Locate the screws that secure the fan blade arm to the motor housing. Use a ladder if necessary to reach the fan.

2. Unfasten the two screws that secure each of the fan blade arms to the motor housing with a screwdriver.

3. Take the fan blades off the motor housing. Using a screwdriver, unfasten the screws that secure the fan blades to each of the fan blade arms. Set the blades out of the way.
