If you're looking for the quickest way to stucco a ceiling, you'll most likely benefit from stucco spray. There's no skill required to use this spray, which makes it an easy solution for a do-it-yourself project even if you're a beginner.
Instructions
1. Remove any furniture from the room or cover it in plastic. Place the double-sided tape in a straight line along the top and bottom of the walls. Measure and cut the plastic to fit the wall. The plastic should stick to the double-sided tape to cover all the walls. Cover the floors with plastic.
2. Put on your gloves and mask and prepare the spray mixture. Fill half of the five-gallon pail with water. Pour the mixture slowly into the water, stirring with a paddle (use a 1/2-inch drill and continue adding the stucco mixture while you mix). Ideally, your mixture should achieve a medium consistency, not thin and runny, but not too thick. If the mixture is too thick, it will clog the sprayer.
3. Connect the gun and compressor. Spray a corner with a test blast to make sure the gun is working.
4. Start in the same corner, spraying across the ceiling. As you reach the opposite corner, work backwards onto the next section. Continue moving back and forth across the room until you've finished the entire ceiling.
5. Check the ceiling for flaws and perform any touch-ups right away. Use the large garbage bags to dispose of plastic, tape, mask, gloves and any debris.
