Open Fluorescent Light Covers

Many florescent light bulbs last for several years, so changing the bulb is most likely in the back of your mind. When a bulb burns out, you will notice that you must open the light cover that sits below the actual light bulb. This light cover is part of the light and helps distribute the light more evenly and protects the bulb from damage.

Instructions

1. Position a ladder directly under the fluorescent light. Climb the ladder until you can reach the light.

2. Look on the long sides of the fluorescent light fixture. Look for two clips on one of the sides.

3. Place one hand underneath the cover and pull down on each clip with the other hand. This will unlock the cover.

4. Lower the fluorescent light cover gently. It will swing on a hinge attached on the opposite side of the clips. Once it hangs down vertically, you can let go.
