Use Hunter Ceiling Fan With A Remote Control

Hunter makes a line of functional ceiling fans with lots of options: some have lights and some do not, some have remote controls and some have attachments that allow for vaulted or pitched ceilings. Hunter's remote controlled fans and lights allow you to stay in one place and make adjustments to the light dimness and fan speed, rather than having to catch a chain or use the wall switch.

Instructions

1. Turn the wall switch to the ON position. Hunter fan lights turn on at their maximum brightness when accessed from the wall. If you turned the fan off from the remote control the last time you used it and you want to turn it on from the wall, turn it to the OFF position, then ON. The remote only works when the wall switch is in the ON position.

2. Press and release the light button on the remote quickly to turn the light off. Press and hold the light button for a second or two to dim the light. As you hold the light button, the light continues to dim until it turns off completely. For some Hunter models, turning the light off after it is dimmed resets the light; some have an auto-resume function, with an LCD remote. The screen on the LCD remote also lets you see the percentage of brightness at which the lights are set.

3. Push a fan speed button on the regular remote to turn the fan on at that speed. There are high, medium and low speeds. Push the fan OFF button to turn the fan off. On models with LCD remotes, push the FAN button to turn the fan on at high speed. Press it again to reduce the speed to medium, again to change it to low and once more to turn it off.

4. Switch the wall switch to the OFF position if you plan not to use your Hunter fan for several days. For regular use throughout the day or over the course of a few days, leave it on so you can use your remote.
