Mount Projection Units To Drop Ceilings

Home theater projectors can be set on a table or attached to the ceiling, which requires the use of a mount. You can attach a projector mount onto a drop, or suspended ceiling, or a ceiling that has drywall. You'll need a mount that includes a drop ceiling kit.

Instructions

1. Remove the ceiling panel where the projector needs to hang. Locate the ceiling joists to attach the projector mount.

2. Remove the bolts that secure the ceiling plate from the projector mount with your wrench.

3. Place the ceiling plate on the ceiling joists and mark the location of the mounting holes with the pencil.

4. Drill 3-inch-deep pilot holes on the marks using a 3/16-inch drill bit with the power drill.

5. Align the ceiling plate over the pilot holes and insert lag bolts into the holes. Tighten the lag bolts with the socket wrench.

6. Place the pipe drop-down assembly on the ceiling plate. Insert the screws into the mounting holes and tighten with the power drill.

7. Cut the ceiling tile in half with the hacksaw. Cut a half circle on each side for the mounting pole. Place the ceiling tiles back in place.

8. Attach the projector to the bottom of the pole mount plate.
