Hang An Overhead Projector

Hanging overhead projectors are common in offices and classrooms.

A hanging overhead projector is an easy way to add professionalism to your business. Hanging the projector removes clutter from your conference table and enables your clients and peers to focus on what you are presenting. Fortunately, overhead ceiling mounts are easy to install and most electronic and hardware stores carry after-market projector ceiling mounts. Although most mounts claim to be "universal," make sure the one you choose is compatible with your projector before you buy.

Instructions

1. Select the area on the ceiling where you will be hanging the projector. The projector should hang approximately 10 feet from the screen or wall onto which it will project.

2. Place the mount on the ceiling together with the mount's provided screws. For suspended ceilings, you are going to need a mount that includes an extension arm to join the ceiling's inside beams, as well as extend down from the suspended ceiling.

3. Invert the projector and thereafter line up the mount openings at the bottom of the projector to the screw openings in the mount.

4. Attach the projector to the mount with the screws that were provided.

5. Run a video lead from the projector to its video supply; generally a computer or video player. For computer systems, link a VGA lead into the blue VGA port at the back of your projector. Connect the opposite end of the lead into the VGA port at the back of your personal computer. For DVD or BlueRay players, run a composite video lead from the yellow composite port on the back of the projector into the yellow "Video Out" port at the back of the player.

6. Put the female end of your projector's electricity wire into the DC electricity port at the back of your projector. Connect the male end of the lead into an electrical outlet close to your selected video source.

7. Turn the projector on and follow the menu instructions to invert the screen.

8. Rotate the lens in the projector to adjust the sharpness of the picture to your liking.
