Mount A Shower Curtain Rod

Installing a shower curtain rod is a fairly easy task and, if it's on your "honey do" list, you can cross it off in about 15 minutes.Your bathroom will then be equipped with a permanent fixture rather than a tension rod, which can slip and leave your shower curtain dragging on the floor. You'll need just a few basic tools to complete this project. You won't even work up a sweat, so when you're finished, you can skip the shower.

Instructions

1. Determine where you want to position the rod. Take into account the length of the shower curtain and where the shower curtain and liner will hang.

2. Measure the distance from one wall to the other. If necessary, trim the rod to fit using a hacksaw.

3. Insert the rod into the brackets, and position the brackets on the walls. The rod should fit snugly and hold the brackets in place.

4. Check the rod with a level, and adjust it if necessary.

5. Mark the screw holes for the brackets, and take the rod and brackets down.

6. Use a stud finder to determine if there are wall studs at the marks you made.

7. Drill holes at the screw hole locations for anchors if there are no studs. The anchors must fit tightly into the holes.

8. Tap the anchors into the screw holes with a hammer.

9. Position the rod and brackets, and screw the brackets to the walls.
