Hunter Douglas has been creating ceiling fans for over 100 years.
The Hunter Douglas company began in 1886 when John Hunter and his son created the first water-driven ceiling fan. Since that time, Hunter Douglas has expanded its product offerings beyond ceiling fans and now offers other types of fans, as well as products such as purifiers and thermostats. The company's fans include both classic and modern styles.
Classic Ceiling Fans
Although classic in appearance, most Hunter the same features as they did with its original models. One of these models, the Hunter 25517 Summer Breeze, is a simple model without a light but Energy Star rated for efficiency. The Hunter 22460 Astoria uses the classic wood-panel finish and single bowl-shaped light.
Stylish Ceiling Fans
The Hunter Douglas line of stylish fans is opposite of its classic models, focusing on eye-catching designs and themes. Top selling models include the Discovery ceiling fan, which features an astronomical theme with moon and star patterns across the blades. The Baseball model uses bats as blades and a glove for the base. Another, the Fantasy Flyer, has the front of an old style airplane as the base with the propeller as the fan blades.
In addition to ceiling fans, Hunter Douglas offers bathroom fans. The Ultra Quiet models of bathroom fans have the appearance of a simple ventilation system, with a light placed at the front of the unit. Others, such as the Belle Meade and LaStrada, have a classic bowl-style light covering the fans. More modern styles include the Saturn models, which uses a bowl light with a base like a series of rings.
Portable Fans
Hunter Douglas also offers garage fans, pedestal fans and desk fans. Hanging fans favor efficiency over style with a metal guard covering a six-blade fan. The Retro line of portable fans include small fans with a classic metal desk fan appearance. The three-in-one Portable fan can be used as a pedestal, desk or wall mounted fan.
