Hang Garage Heaters
Garage heaters are used to heat your garage to more comfortable conditions in colder months of the year. They allow you to work in your garage and complete tasks that would be hard or impossible to do in the wintertime when temperatures are cold. Most garage heaters are mounted to the ceiling, which helps save space in the garage. In order to hang garage heaters from the ceiling, you'll need a few materials and a small selection of tools.
Instructions
1. Look at your garage heater. Most garage heaters have slots on top of the heater that are used to hang the heater from the ceiling.
2. Measure the distance between the two anchor points on top of the garage heater. Mark out a point on a ceiling joist in your garage and then make another mark at the distance you have just calculated.
3. Put the number 14 nut driver in your cordless drill and screw in a Sammy wood screw at each mark you made.
4. Determine how far down from the ceiling joists you want your garage heater to hang. Cut two threaded rods at this length.
5. Screw each threaded rod into one of the Sammys. Tighten them down with your pliers.
6. Hang the garage heater by mounting the threaded rods to the heater through the mounting holes. You'll want a nut and washer on top of the mounting hole and a nut and washer on bottom of the mounting hole.
7. Adjust the garage heater as necessary until it is level and tighten down the nuts with either a 9/16-inch ratchet wrench or 9/16-inch box wrench.
