Diy Ceiling Mount Projector Screen

DIY Ceiling Mount Projector Screen

Mounting the projector screen to a projector television can save money on costly installations. Projector screens are relatively lightweight in comparison to their projector counterparts and can be free standing or the pull-down type. Mounting the projector screen from the ceiling eliminates the fear of having to correctly find a stud to avoid drywall cracking. Without having to drill through walls, the mounting process can also avoid ruining otherwise perfectly good point jobs on any given wall.

Instructions

1. Set up the ladder 6 inches from the wall closest to where the screen will be hung and climb the ladder. Hold the screen up to the wall while standing on the ladder. Using a pencil, mark small circles on the ceiling, matching where the two mounting clamps will attach.

2. Drill (gently) to push 2 1/2-inch holes into the ceiling exactly over the pencil marks (using as little torque on the dial as possible). Take each screw and run it into the mounting brackets of the screen. Place the foldable clamp on the protruding end of each screw that now resides in the brackets.

3. Fold each clamp and push them into the holes in the ceiling. Continue to push up until they unfold and now hold the screen up. Use the drill (still at the lowest torque setting) to drill the screws straight up and tighten the mount onto the clamp.
