Replace A Fan Blade On A Jeep

A Jeep uses a cooling fan mounted to the radiator which spins to cool down both the radiator and engine in turn. These fans are electric, and if the blades aren't connected properly or are broken, then the engine won't be able to cool the Jeep properly. To fix the issue, you need to pull out the fan assembly from the engine bay, then replace the fan blade assembly as a whole, because the individual blades are not replaceable.

Instructions

1. Open up the hood. Unbolt the coolant recovery reservoir from the engine bay with the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket and pull it out of the way. Unbolt the power steering reservoir from the core support with the ratchet as well, and then pull it out of the way as well.

2. Unplug the wiring to the electrical fan with your hands. Unbolt the fan assembly from the core support with the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket and pull the assembly out of the vehicle.

3. Unbolt the fan blades from the fan motor with the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket and discard the defective blades. Install the replacement blades onto the fan motor with the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket.

4. Lift the fan assembly back into the engine bay and reinstall it to the core support with the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Plug the wiring back in place and bolt the power steering reservoir and coolant recovery reservoir to the core support with the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket.
