The C610 is one of Proficient Audio's entry level ceiling mounted audio speaker with a 6.5-inch woofer. Featuring a coaxial design, it places the tweeter directly in front of the woofer, making it smaller and easier to install. Because its tweeter can be pivoted, the speaker's sound can be aimed at the listening location.
Drivers
The C610 has two drivers---a 1-inch soft dome tweeter that pivots and a 6.5-inch woofer. The woofer's cone is made of polypropylene and it has a vibration-taming surround made of butyl rubber.
Power Handling & Sensitivity
Proficient Audio rates the C610 to respond to amplifiers with between 5 and 85 watts per channel of power. They have a standard 8 ohm impedance and can produce 91 decibels of sound from 1 meter away with a 1 watt input.
Frequency Response
With a frequency response from 40 to 20,000 hertz, the C610 can handle both music and home theater content.
Dimensions and Mounting
Thanks to its coaxial design, the C610 has just a 9 1/4-inch diameter and is 3 5/8 inches deep. It requires a ceiling cutout of 8 1/4 inches in diameter for mounting. It weighs 9 lbs. and the dimensions are 12.25 inches in length, 10.7 inches in width and 11 inches in height. It comes with a 10-year limited warranty.
