Broan 655 Installation

Steam from the shower can eventually ruin your wallcovering if you do not have an exhaust fan installed.

Broan is the manufacturer of various bathroom light and fan kits. These fans are used to rid bathrooms of fumes, steam and heat. The Broan 655 model fan is a combination of a light, heater and an exhaust fan. This unit will help keep the steam from your shower from moistening your wallpaper or wall covering, which could potentially ruin your walls. Installation of the Broan 655 is of moderate difficulty, because you should have some previous electrical experience to stay safe.

Instructions

1. Turn off the electricity going to the bathroom. This can be done at your household circuit breaker.

2. Place the Broan 655 mounting bracket onto the ceiling where you would like the fan to be installed. Using you hammer, pound each of your four nails into the corner holes on the mounting bracket.

3. Line up the tabs on the damper connector with the slots in the housing, then snap the connector into the housing.

4. Place the Broan 655 into the assembly. Insert the fan-mounting screw into the assembly and tighten it with your screwdriver.

5. Attach the black and white wires into the black and white slots on the light and fan assembly. The white wire needs to go into the white slot, and the black wire needs to go into the black slot.

6. Use a nut to attach the grill reflector to the grill opening. Use your pliers to tighten the nut.

7. Place a light bulb into the light socket and tighten it. Attach the light lens tab into the notch in the grill assembly. Snap the lens into place by pressing the additional tab inward.

8. Turn the electricity back on in the bathroom to verify that the Broan 655 is working properly.
