Hang A Drum Lamp

You'll need a basic drill to install your anchor bolt.

Drum lamp shades can be used as chandeliers for the center of your dining room, or as accent lamps to brighten up the corners of a dark room. If you've purchased a drum lamp and you're not quite sure hang it, rest assured that the process is quite simple. You'll need the most basic of tools and a little skill with a drill to hang the drum's cord from a hook in the ceiling.

Instructions

1. Drill a hole into the ceiling with a 1/4-inch bit.

2. Screw in a 1/4 inch anchor bolt into the hole you created, and release the sides when the bolt is through the drywall to release the wings on the opposite side of the drywall.

3. Screw the ceiling hook onto the bolt you just installed in the ceiling.

4. Loop your drum lamp cord over the hook you just installed and put it at the level you would like it to be in relation to the floor and ceiling.

5. Secure a "figure-8" hook onto the two sides of the cord, where they hang below the hook in the ceiling. This will keep the cord from slipping down off the hook.
