Apply For Grants In Georgia

Grants are a great way to help pay for college.

If you live in Georgia and need help paying for college, starting a business or carrying out charitable work, then a grant is a great avenue to explore. There are federal grants for women, minorities, school, housing and small businesses. The government also provides assistance through benefit programs that serve various important purposes, such as job training, nutritional assistance, health care and other needs. These programs are wonderful for those who are in need of financial assistance--and applying is much easier than you may think.

Instructions

1. Visit Grants.gov to apply for grants available in Georgia. There are hundreds of different grants, and you can apply directly online. When you find a grant that you are interested in applying for, download an application directly on the website. Once you've submitted the application, you can track it online through its entire process.

2. Check out Govbenefits.gov. This site partners with the federal government to help individuals seek out benefit and assistance programs. They offer help for child care, school lunches, disaster relief and housing, among other areas. By filling out their online questionnaire, you can find out exactly what types of benefits you qualify for and receive them.

3. Go to the site Studentaid.ed.gov to get grant and financial aid assistance for college. If you are interested in continuing your education in Georgia but do not have money to pay for it, this site has some wonderful resources to help you get the money. Its federal student aid program provides over $100 billion a year in grants, loans and work-study assistance.

To apply for benefits and student aid, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available on this site. It is quick and easy to use, plus you can track its process by getting a PIN number for your application.

4. Apply for benefit programs available through the U.S. Small Business Association if you are opening up a small business in Georgia. They offer programs and free training to help your business succeed. There is an online application for available loan and benefit programs directly on this site.
