In addition to playing games on your PlayStation 3, you can use the console for other tasks, such as browsing the Internet. One issue that may arise is the size of the text on your screen. Smaller television screens might make browsing difficult while some users might have trouble when their HD television displays font much smaller than is comfortable to view. There are two ways to change the font size on the PS3. One method applies to Internet browsing while a second spans all text displayed on the console.
Instructions
Browser Text Size
1. Scroll to the left of the cross media bar using your PS3 controller. Highlight Network then scroll down to Internet Browser and press X.
2. Press Triangle on your controller to open the browser menu. Scroll up to View and press X.
3. Select Character Size and press X to open up a list of font sizes. Scroll up to +1 and press X.
4. View the new font size on your screen. If the font is too small move up one size in the menu to +2. Adjust the size to -1 or -2 if it appears too big.
5. Return to the browser menu and select View. Highlight Maximum Size and press X to fill your entire television screen with the browser, enlarging the text even further.
Decreasing Screen Resolution
6. Power on your PlayStation 3 and scroll to Settings on the cross media bar. Scroll down the Settings menu and press X when Display Settings has been highlighted.
7. Choose Video Output Settings and press X. Scroll one screen over using your controller and you will see a list of resolutions being used on the television.
8. Uncheck all boxes except for Standard (NTSC) and press Square. Your screen will shift to a lower resolution with enlarged text.
9. Press X to accept this setting and return to the cross media bar.
