Make Home Theater Speaker Mounts For Your Ceiling

A simple

If you have hunted around your local department store for speaker mounts to complete your home theater, then you have noticed that buying a complete set can be fairly expensive. In this article I will show you easily make your own at the fraction of the price!

Instructions

1. The simplest way to fabricate your own home theater speaker mounts is to truck on down to your local hardware store and pick up some simple "L" brackets. You need to purchase one per speaker for the ones that you want to mount from your ceiling.

2. There are many different sizes available and you need to make sure you purchase "L" brackets that are long enough on each side to clear the speaker from the ceiling.

3. Also, while you are at your local hardware store, pick up a variety pack of nuts, bolts and screws that will most likely have the correct size to allow you to mount your speakers securely

4. Bend the "L" brackets into the correct angle that will be aiming towards your listening position. It is much easier to mount the pre-bent "L" brackets on the ceiling using a screw driver or cordless screw driver and appropriate size screws supplied with the nut and bolt kit you purchased before securing the bracket to the speakers.

5. When you have secured all the brackets to the ceiling, you can paint them to match your paint scheme or leave them be as the "L" brackets aren't very noticeable compared to store bought home theater "swivel" type speaker mounts. Now find the correct size bolts that will screw into the back of your home theater speakers and then mount each speaker on the corresponding bracket mount.
