Fix A Hunter Fan Remote

Many Hunter ceiling fans are equipped with remote-control devices. The Hunter fan remote control works in conjunction with a receiver that is installed in the fan casing and allows you to turn on the fan's lights, set the fan's speed and reverse the fan's movement. If the Hunter fan remote is not working properly there are several troubleshooting steps that you can take to solve technical issues.

Instructions

1. Replace the 12-volt battery in the remote. Press the tab located on the battery cover and pull backward to expose the battery housing, you can then insert the new 12-volt battery and replace the cover.

2. Turn off the wall switch the fan is connected to for five seconds, then turn it back on. This can help in situations where the remote is working inconsistently due to RF interference.

3. Ensure that the jumper switch on the remote and receiver are set on the same setting. The jumper switch in the remote is located inside the battery compartment, while the jumpers in the receiver are located in the fan switch housing.

4. Press a fan speed button on the remote, then press the reverse button if the fan will not run.

5. Ensure that the wall switch the fan is connected to is set to the "On" position.
