Size
Hampton Bay fans differ in size depending on the model. For example, a Clarkson 44-inch fan is 13.78 inches deep, 13.78 inches high and 44 inches wide. Another model, the Marlton, is an oil-rubbed bronze ceiling fan that measures 52 inches deep, 17.31 inches high and 52 inches wide.
Hanging Length
Different fans hang different lengths from the ceiling. The 44-inch Clarkson model, for example, has a distance from the ceiling to the bottom of the fan of 12 inches, while the bottom of the Marlton 52-inch model is 17.32 inches from the ceiling. Knowing the hanging length is especially important if you're installing the fans in a room with relatively short or tall ceilings.
Fan Blades
Different Hampton Bay fans also have different sizes of fan blades. For example, the model uses 17.72-inch-long and 4.88-inch-wide MDF blades while the Marlton 52-inch fan uses 22.97-inch-long and 6-inch-wide plywood blades. Both fans come with reversible blades, meaning the two sides of a blade are different colors, allowing you to select the color best suited to the room decor.
Other Specifications
Another key measurement of a ceiling fan is its airflow rating, measured as cubic feet per minute, or CFM. In general, the larger the fan, the higher the CFM. The Marlton 52-inch model, for example, has a CFM of 5568, while the Clarkson 44-inch fan has a CFM of 3241.
Fans are also rated on the kind of room they are appropriate for, with the Clarkson appropriate for a small room and the Marlton for a large room.
