Do Floor Functions On A Ti83

A graphing calculator, like the TI-83 by Texas Instruments, is commonly required for many advanced math courses. A floor function takes a value and returns the largest integer that is smaller than that value. You can use a TI-83 to return the result of a floor function for a specific value or to graph a floor function on a two-dimensional plot.

Instructions

1. Press your TI-83's "MATH" button, and then press the right arrow key to access the "MATH NUM" menu.

2. Press the "5" button to insert "int(" into your calculation.

3. Type the value for which you want to evaluate the floor function, press the ")" key and then press "Enter."
