DuPont grout sealer protects grout from stains.
DuPont grout sealer is a water-based product that protects the grout around natural stone, ceramic and porcelain tiles. The sealer can be used for both indoor and outdoor tile, and protects from oil-, water-, and dirt based stains. Always apply the sealer to clean tile grout to ensure the best results. The sealer can be expected to last for at least one year outdoors and at least three years indoors.
Instructions
1. Wait at least 72 hours before applying the sealer to new grout installations. Test the sealer first on a small, inconspicuous spot to make sure that you are able to apply it successfully and get the desired result. Check the test area after 24 hours to determine if the results are satisfactory.
2. Apply the sealer onto the grout using a small paint brush or roller. Let the sealer sit for between five and 15 minutes and then apply a generous second coat. Allow the second coat to dry for at least five minutes.
3. Use a dry cloth or mop to wipe up the excess sealer from the tile surrounding the grout. If residue persists, clean the area with a cloth dampened with sealer and then use a nylon pad to loosed the residue. Wipe up the area with a white absorbent towel.
4. Wait at least four hours before allowing foot traffic to the area--a full cure will be achieved in 24 to 48 hours. If you must walk on the area immediately, cover it with red rosin paper.
Tips Warnings
Always apply grout sealer in a well-ventilated environment to avoid illness from the fumes.
