Fiber-optic cables can be used to create a variety of looks in numerous settings. Fiber-optic lighting can also be incorporated within outdoor areas other than pools. End-emitting fiber-optic cables can be embedded into walkways to create dots of light in the dark. Fiber-optic lights can also be embedded into light blocks that look like glass bricks, which can be placed in walls or walkways to create ambient lighting. Fiber optics can also be embedded into lamps to light pathways or patio areas.
Ceilings
Fiber-optic lights can be used on ceilings to create a dramatic look for a room. Side-emitting fiber-optic cables can be placed in recessed areas of the ceiling or hidden behind panels hanging from the ceiling. Exposed side-emitting fiber-optic cables can be given the look of neon lighting. Similar to pool bottoms and pathways, end-emitting fiber-optic cables can be embedded into the ceilings, creating illuminated dots. Fiber optics can even be placed into can or swivel lighting fixtures in the ceiling, like more traditional lighting features.
