IKEA mini pendant lights
Mini pendant lighting is a great way to add decorative lighting to kitchens and bathrooms. Mini pendant lighting can be purchased at just about every home improvement store and is available in a variety of different styles that can accentuate any decor. Many mini pendant lights use LED technology which can provide an energy savings over traditional lighting.
Instructions
Turn Off the Power
1. Find the circuit breaker for the electrical conduit box where the new light will be installed and turn it off.
2. Put a piece of tape over the breaker so that it will not be accidentally turned on while the light is being installed.
3. Remove the existing fixture (if one exists) with a screwdriver.
Installing the Light
4. Untwist the wires and match up the corresponding color-coded wires with those in the junction box where the light will be installed: black with black, white with white and copper ground with ground. Twist the matching wire ends together and use the yellow wire caps to cover the exposed wire terminals.
5. Adjust the height of the pendant light to suit your needs. It is helpful if you have someone who can judge the height of the lamp and give you feedback.
6. Secure the height of the lamp by turning the nut on the bottom of the base. This will ensure that the cord will not drop down after it is installed.
7. Use the screwdriver to secure the base of the pendant light to the conduit box.
8. Remove the tape from the breaker and reconnect the electricity. Enjoy your new mini pendant light.
