Balloon Ceiling Decorations For A Wedding Hall

Balloon Ceiling Decorations for a Wedding Hall

If you are looking for inexpensive wedding decorations, balloons are a great way to add color and flair to a room for a low price. Balloon wedding decorations can be very classy and creative if done properly; decorate the ceiling with balloons to add a subtle festive mood to the room without taking up too much space. Choose subtle colors that match your wedding theme, and you can have elegant balloon decorations that will add the perfect flair to your special day.

Covered

One very simple way to decorate for your wedding reception is to cover the ceiling with balloons. This will add a whole different look and feel to the room, without being tacky. Use balloons in silver, white, beige, or gold that coordinate with your wedding reception, but this look will be more elegant if you do not use colors exactly matching your reception colors. For instance, a ceiling of silver balloons will be more simple and understated, while a ceiling filled with purple balloons may be more reminiscent of a birthday party. Fill the balloons with helium and allow them to drift to the ceiling. For a more dramatic approach, tie matching ribbon around each balloon and allow them to hang down; only use this look if the ceiling is high enough that the ribbons won't hang in guests' faces.

Starburst

Use balloons to create a starburst on the ceiling by arranging them in lines that intersect in the center of the ceiling. Use tape or staight pins to connect the knot of the balloon to the ceiling. Begin in one corner of the room, and form a line of balloons diagonally across the ceiling to the opposite corner of the room. Do this in the other corner, forming an X across the ceiling. Move to the center of each wall, and create a straight line across to the opposite wall. The balloons should cross in the center of the ceiling, creating a pretty, decorative starburst on the ceiling. Again, use colored balloons that coordinate with your wedding, but avoid colors that are overly bold or childish.

Edging

Line the ceiling with balloons around the edge of the room. Not only is this a good way to decorate the ceiling with balloons, but it will also help hide any unsightly trim or molding. Use pins or tape to attach the knot of the balloon to the outer edge of the ceiling so that the balloons hang down. You can also place tape directly on the balloon and stick it to the ceiling or wall; just make sure there are no sharp edges or protruding nails.
