Hang Curtains From The Ceiling

An easy and stylish way to divide a space, such as separating the bedroom area from the living and kitchen area in a studio apartment, is to hang curtains from the ceiling. This solution maintains your privacy without stifling a small space. Hanging curtains from the ceiling, especially unlined or sheer curtains, still lets in light but accentuates ceiling height, making a room seem larger. Hang dark curtains from the ceiling for a more dramatic look or to make the room feel cozy.

Instructions

1. Mark on the ceiling where you will install the first ceiling mount bracket. Then, measure and mark where the remaining ceiling mount brackets will go by leaving 3 to 4 feet of space between each bracket for adequate support.

2. Install the drywall anchors where you marked the ceiling mount brackets, using a power drill until the head is flush with the ceiling surface. The drywall anchors will ensure that the weight of the curtains won't cause the curtain rod to pull out of the ceiling.

3. Attach the ceiling mount brackets by screwing directly into the drywall anchors using a power drill. Make sure the screws are tight by using your hand to gently try and wiggle the ceiling mount bracket. If it doesn't move, it's secure.

4. Slide the curtain panels over the curtain rod. Insert the curtain rod into the ceiling mount brackets, adjust the curtain panels so they are evenly spaced between the brackets and tighten the small screw (usually found on the underside of the ceiling bracket) until the curtain rod is secure.
