The Westinghouse Provincial MST-78002 ceiling fan features a bronze finish and reversible plywood blades available in distressed pine or walnut designs. This ceiling fan is Energy Star compliant. It includes a light fixture, and two energy saving compact fluorescent (CFL) bulbs, each drawing 13 watts. While these bulbs have much longer lives than incandescent ones, you will eventually have to replace them. Even though they are hidden behind a frosted glass cover plate, you can do this in five minutes or fewer.
Instructions
1. Position a stepladder under the fan. Use a ladder tall enough for you to work comfortably from no higher than the second-last rung. Make sure the base is fully open and the feet are all on the same level.
2. Turn off the fan and wait for it to stop spinning. Climb up the ladder and hold the glass cover on the bottom of the fan while you turn the nut that holds it counterclockwise. Keep holding the cover while you remove the nut, then lower the cover, climb down the ladder, and set it on the ground in a safe place.
3. Unscrew each light bulb by turning it counterclockwise. Replace it with a 13-watt CFL bulb or a 40-watt incandescent one. Screw the bulb in and hand-tighten it.
4. Place the cover back over the bulbs so the threaded stem extends through the bottom. Screw the nut onto the stem and hand-tighten it.
