Many people enjoy having a light/fan combination mounted on their room's ceiling. However, not all Hampton Bay ceiling fans come with attached lights. If yours does not, purchase a light kit that is compatible with your ceiling fan and wire them together. Hampton Bay makes adding a light to your ceiling fan a simple task by installing an easily accessible wiring plug inside both the ceiling fan and the light kit.
Instructions
1. Turn off the power to the ceiling fan from the main breaker. Loosen the screws holding the cover plate over the center of the Hampton Bay ceiling fan. These screws will be located on the bottom of the fan motor underneath the fan blades. Pull the wiring plug down from inside the ceiling fan.
2. Plug the light's wiring plug into the ceiling fan's wiring plug. It will only plug in one way, with each of the same-colored wires matching up.
3. Position the light's hooks over the screws you loosened in Step 1. Twist the light slightly to lock it in place. Tighten the screws.
