Remove Burnedon Grease From Cookware

Burned-on grease doesn't have to be the end of your pot or pan.

Use old-fashioned remedies for removing baked-on grease from pots and pans, no matter what they are made of. With the help of different household products and a little heat, even the worst sticky or hardened messes come off and leave you with sparkling clean pots and pans.

Instructions

1. Fill glass cookware with water and add six effervescent antacid tablets. As the tablets dissolve, they will work to loosen any baked-on grease. Leave alone for an hour and then scrub with a sponge and hot water.

2. Fill enameled pots with water and add two denture cleaning tablets. After they stop fizzing, the cookware should be clean.

3. Cover the entire bottom of non-stick cookware with baking soda. Add water and a squirt of dish soap and put on the stove over medium heat for half an hour. The heat, water and baking soda work together to loosen baked-on grease. Scrub with a steel wool pad to remove any remnants.

4. Use oven cleaner to remove baked-on grease that other techniques won't touch. Wear rubber gloves and spray the pan with oven grease. Place in a heavy-duty garbage bag and close tight. Leave overnight. Open the bag outdoors and wipe the grease away. Always use rubber gloves and take precautions not to breathe in the fumes.
