A dining areas can be separated from other areas of the patio by attractive weather-resistant rugs, and can be protected from the sun by a wooden pergola, sail cloth, canopy or patio umbrella.

Create an oasis with a hot-tub area on your patio. Portable units can be placed on the surface, or you can sink a hot tub into the decking. Add large potted plants or hedging for privacy and a towel rack.
