Global Tel Link accounts permit inmates to make prepaid calls.
Global Tel Link provides phone service for inmates and their families. This service allows inmates to place prepaid calls to preselected numbers. Service is available in correctional facilities in California, Connecticut, Georgia, Louisiana, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Setting up a Global Tel Link account requires the recipients of the inmates' call to set up an AdvancePay account to process payments of the prepaid calls in amounts of either $25 or $50.
Instructions
1. Call the Global Tel Link automated voice response system at 800-483-8314 to set up an AdvancePay account and follow the voice prompts. Service is available 24 hours a day and requires a Visa or MasterCard to process your payment.
2. Call 866-230-7761 to speak directly with a Global Tel Link customer service representative to set up an AdvancePay account if you don't have a credit card. Receive instructions on completing alternate payments options including checks, money orders, Express Payments and Western Union Quick Collect. Your account will be valid once AdvancePay receives your payment. Call the automated system to confirm the status of your account.
3. Register online for an AdvancePay account via TouchPay Payments systems by visiting the Global Tel Link website (gtl.net). Select the Inmate Friends and Family Members area of the website and click the TouchPay Payment Systems graphics box. Select Click here on the web page that opens to set up a payment account. Complete information on the web form, including your name, address, email address, date of birth and last four digits of your Social Security number. Await email confirmation of account creation. Click the confirmation link in the email and make your payment online.
Tips Warnings
If your AdvancePay account gets low, you will receive automated phone call reminders to add funds to your account.
Calls made using the Global Tel Link system may be recorded and monitored.
