Paint A Commercial Ceiling Black

Paint your commercial ceiling black with a paint sprayer

There are many advantages to painting the ceiling of your commercial business black, particularly in the theater or commercial kitchen business. In theater situations, a black ceiling helps concentrate the light on the screen or from spotlights. In kitchens, blackened ceilings help hide charcoal deposits from ovens. Nightclubs and bars use black ceilings to add a shine or glaze atmosphere to the club. Because many commercial ceilings are unfinished and have exposed air ducts, it is best to paint ceilings with a paint sprayer.

Instructions

1. Place the tape around the edges of the walls where they meet the ceiling. Tape newspaper around the edges of all the walls to protect them from any paint spill over. Put on your respirator.

2. Plug in your paint sprayer and place your suction hose into the paint bucket.

3. Start spraying the edges of the ceiling where it meets the tape. Cover the entire perimeter with one layer of paint.

4. Spray from the outside of the ceiling and work your way toward the center with parallel lines. Continue spraying until the entire ceiling is covered.

5. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 after the first coat dries. Remove the perimeter tape and newspaper after the second coat dries.
