Replace a faulty pull chain to get your ceiling fan light working again.
There are always small repairs to do around a house and occasionally they require a little effort. If your ceiling fan light has gone out and you have determined it is not as simple as changing out the light bulb, chances are it is the pull switch to the light. You may have been dreading getting out the ladder, but as outside temperatures change, you'll be wanting your ceiling fan and light to be working properly.
Instructions
1. Turn the electricity off to the light at the breaker box. Your breaker box is usually in the garage, but some houses have them in the kitchen or hallway.
2. Remove the screws that hold the bottom of the light fixture in place with a screwdriver. Typically, the fixture has three screws. This will expose the wiring.
3. Remove the light's old pull-chain switch from the housing. Remove the two wire nuts attached to the old pull-chain switch and install the new switch, securing the light back to the fan.
