Make A Lifesaver Costume

Rescue yourself from generic and expensive store-bought costumes and uninspired ideas such as a bed sheet ghost. For Halloween or your next costume party, dress up as a roll of LifeSavers -- the classic hard candy. This creative and colorful costume is sure to help you stand out from the crowd.

Instructions

1. Purchase five inflatable inner tubes in different primary or bright colors from a pool supply or toy store. Try on the inner tubes before you buy them to make sure they fit around your torso without falling off.

2. Write the word LifeSavers in capital letters 8 inches high in blue marker on white poster board.

3. Cut out the word LifeSavers from the poster board using scissors. Leave the letters in the word attached to the other letters in the word.

4. Attach the poster board cutout to one of the inner tubes using super glue.

5. Cover a top hat with aluminum foil to represent the foil packaging LifeSavers candy traditionally comes in.

6. Purchase elastic beading cord at a craft store and cut several 10 inch strands of cord.

7. String LifeSavers hard candy on 8 inches of the cord. Then, tie the cord in a secure knot around your wrist. Repeat this process to make as many LifeSavers candy bracelets as you desire.

8. Wear gray or iridescent silver tights, a tube-top and silver shoes.

9. Stack the five inner tubes on your torso. The inner tube with the poster board sign on it should be the middle inner tube.

Tips Warnings

This may not be this best costume choice if you will be at a crowded party or in a cramped venue. If you will be riding in car while wearing your costume, remove your inner tubes so you can properly wear a seat belt.
