Decorate A Floor Level Window

If you have floor-level windows in your home, such as floor-to-ceiling windows, decorating can be a challenge. Typically, this is because floor-level windows are larger than standard windows and may even lack a windowsill. You can implement some of the same decor ideas for a floor-level window as for a higher one.

Instructions

1. Place a pedestal column on each side of the window, or just on one side. Display potted plants or a vase with flowers on the column. You can use real or fake plants. If using a glass vase, fill the bottom with colored marbles, which will reflect the incoming sunlight.

2. Use floor-length curtains to give the window a little color. You can even opt for sheer colored curtains if you want to keep them drawn for privacy while still letting in some light. If your windows highlight a spectacular view, you may want only simple curtains around the window so as not to hide the exterior landscape.

3. Center a large decorative piece on the floor in front of the window. You can use anything that matches the decor of the room, such as a large, colored ceramic vase, a small table or decorative trunk. Since sunlight will most likely come through the window, do not put any photos there, as the sun may bleach out the colors in the images.
