Fix your crackly
Ceiling speakers can create the impression of being enveloped in sound. But it can be very annoying when ceiling speakers give off crackly or static noise. The crackly noise can be caused by speaker or speaker wire damage, blown receiver fuses or other electrical devices interfering with the speaker sound production. Fix these crackly speaker noises with a few simple tips.
Instructions
1. Mount your ceiling speakers where there will be no electrical interference from other devices. Relocate any electronic devices out of range of the speakers until the crackly noises stop. Check your device owner's manual for placement recommendations to prevent electrical interference.
2. Adjust the speaker volume and the graphic equalizer on the receiver to prevent crackling and other sound distortion.
3. Unmount your ceiling speakers and pry off their covers with a screwdriver. Check for any tears in the speaker fabric and repair them with small pieces of duct tape. Replace the speaker covers and remount the speakers.
4. Turn the speakers around so that their backs face you. Check for electrical shorts by tightening the speaker wires at the speaker and receiver terminals. Ensure that exposed wires aren't touching and wrap them with small pieces of duct tape.
5. Check the fuses on your stereo receiver. If necessary, tighten or replace them if they aren't working.
