Directions Mounting A Screen On A Ceiling

Mounting a TV screen on the ceiling looks more complicated than it actually is, but the idea of a TV falling from the ceiling is enough to scare off most do-it-yourself enthusiasts. The reality of the matter is that the installation process uses common household tools and only takes about an hour to complete. Mounting a TV screen to the ceiling opens up your room and allows more space for your belongings.

Instructions

1. Set up a ladder under the area of the ceiling where you want to install the TV. Climb the ladder and use a stud finder to locate a beam. Mark the location of the beam with a pencil.

2. Hold the base end of the ceiling mount over the beam. Insert the lag bolts that came with the ceiling mount through the mounting holes and tighten into the beam with a wrench.

3. Align the holes on the TV end of the ceiling mount to the holes in the center of the TV. Insert the VESA screws through the holes in the bracket and tighten into the TV. VESA screws are made specifically to connect flat-screen TVs to TV mounts.

4. Lift the TV up so the TV mount is facing away from you and carry it up the ladder. Have a friend guide the TV end of the bracket into the connections on the base end. Insert the security screw through the connections and tighten with a Phillips screwdriver.
