Hang A Ceiling Clip In A Doorway

Ceiling clips come in different shapes and sizes designed for general or specific purposes. Some ceiling clips are generic hooks that can support plants or other decorations. Other ceiling clips are for more particular purposes such as hanging a camera or lighting. In many instances, ceiling clips can be mounted against a wall or even in a doorway. The installation requires only a few common tools and can be done by any do-it-yourselfer.

Instructions

1. Place a stool in the doorway and hold the ceiling clip against the top of the doorway.

2. Insert the tip of a pencil through the holes in the ceiling clip, marking the location of each hole.

3. Insert a drill bit into one hole in the ceiling clip to match the diameter. Choose a bit that is the same size or slightly smaller in diameter.

4. Fit the drill bit into your drill. Drill pilot holes through the pencil marks in the top of the doorway.

5. Hold the ceiling clip against the top of the doorway, aligning the holes in the ceiling clip with the holes in the doorway.

6. Insert screws through the ceiling clip into the pilot holes, and hand-tighten the screws to hold them in place. Drive the screws into the top of the doorway with a screw gun or screwdriver to finish hanging the ceiling clip.
