Caring for Floors After Installation
1. Sweep Armstrong vinyl floors immediately after installation is complete to remove dirt, dust and debris.
2. Clean glue or adhesive from the surface of the floor using mineral spirits. Apply the mineral spirits to a damp rag then gently rub the glue until the floor is clean. Once the glue is removed, wipe the floor once more with a damp rag to remove all cleaning products.
3. Mop the floor using Armstrong Commercial Floor Cleaner. Add this product to a bucket filled with water according to the instructions on the bottle. Mop the floor clean to remove all remaining dirt and dust. Allow the floor to air dry when you're done.
4. Apply Armstrong Commercial Floor Polish to protect the floor and add shine. This material can be applied using a clean, dry mop. Pour the polish directly on to the floor in small areas at a time, then use your mop to spread it across the entire surface. Allow the polish to dry, and then repeat this process to add a second coat.
Regular Maintenance
5. Clean Armstrong vinyl floors daily or as needed using a clean dust mop. Remove dirt and dust frequently to avoid damage to the floor.
6. Mop your vinyl floors each week, or more often if they are subject to high traffic levels. Pour Armstrong Commercial Floor Cleaner in a bucket with water; then use a damp mop to apply this mixture to the floor. Allow the floor to air dry once the job is complete.
7. Scrub the floor using a floor scrubbing machine (disc machine) once a month, or weekly if the floor is subject to high traffic levels. Add Armstrong Commercial Floor Cleaner to your machine and run it across the entire floor surface.
8. Buff the floor weekly or as needed using a floor buffing machine. This process will restore the glossy look of the polished vinyl. As the polish on the floor wears off over time, you can add additional coats.
